Patience can be a virtue when it comes to love, and this was certainly the case with Catalone Design’s contribution to the U.S. Postal Service’s love stamp series. It took three years from the initial conversations about the stamp to its eventual release. The 2001 Catalone Design love stamp is one of the most popular in the series, which started in 1973.

Justice followed love when the Postal Service asked Catalone Design to create a series of four stamps commemorating some of the most influential justices ever to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. The souvenir sheet of four stamps honoring Justices Joseph Story, Louis D. Brandeis, Felix Frankfurter, and William J. Brennan Jr. was issued in fall 2009.
